Aangezien het knutselen iets langer duurde dan dat ik gehoopt had nog even een SMSje de deur uit dat ik iets later was. Aangekomen stonden er al 4 duikers te verkleumen achter een bus, zo veel mogelijk uit de wind. Het was -5.5, maar de wind maakte het veel kouder.

Helaas geen ijs, waar ik toch een klein beetje op gehoopt had. Na even gezellig bijpraten en een paar oneliners als: “wat is het koud he?” de pakken aan. Allemaal in droogpak, 1 van ons met argon voor in het pak. We waren er als enigen, dus lekker rustig.

Het water zoals verwacht nat en koud. De duik was lekker rustig, net als het onderwaterleven.Voornamelijk baarsjes en wat voorntjes van maximaal zo’n 20cm. Allemaal lagen ze stil op de bodem, totdat wij langs kwamen. Dan wouden ze nog wel een meter of 2 zwemmen… hooguit! Op de terugweg nog een klein kreeftje. Toen we boven water kwamen stond er een ander DTH lid ons al op te wachten bij onze auto’s. Hij had zelf in het Veenmeer gedoken, en had nog wat snert over. Als dat geen echte liefde is.

Mijn pak kreeg ik nog maar net uit, en kon ik zo rechtop tegen de auto zetten. Helemaal bevroren en bedekt met een laag ijs. De set heb ik zo in mijn auto gegooid, want alles zat ondertussen vastgevroren. Thuis aangekomen, na een rit van een dik uur was alles nog bevroren. Pak opgehangen.
